From the introduction the book is very positive & encouraging just the tone that is needed in 2009's job market.
Based upon the author's 40 year career track record this book will help you in some way.
For instance, Chapter 5 - Answering Questions with Outstanding Benefits - includes a sections that helps you answer questions like "Why were you fired (or laid off or downsized) and answer them well"
A self assessment follows each chapter.

Adler encourages those who are preparing for an interview to read their interviewer and react accordingly, much like one would do in sales. With advice on proper resume construction, and other minor tips that would never come to mind for many, "Sell Yourself in Any Interview" is a must read for anyone about to face an interview for the job they must have.

Book helps in many areas of life May 22, 2008
By H. Schnoll I purchased the book to get information to train students entering the job market. I found this information and also tips on listening skills and questioning models that were applicable to daily life situations. The book was very easy to read and I found the practice pages worthwhile. Finally, the size of the book made it easy to transport and refer to on the train or bus.

This book contains all of the extra "should knows" before entering the world of interviewing. I recently was in a transition place in my career and as someone who had not interviewed in many years I found Oscar Adler's advice invaluable. His instruction is simple to follow and easy to trust due to his credibility. I strongly recommend this book to both the first time interviewer and those re-entering the work force
A Must Read for Anyone Searching for a Job Aug 28, 2008
By Jeffrey Eiden I am entering my Freshman year of college, years away from interviewing for any "real" job, but Mr. Adler's book will help me in many different walks of life. Oscar puts the reader at every advantage from the time before the interview until writing the follow up thank you letters. He provides insight on what to expect, and shifts your thinking from considering yourself to analyzing the needs of both the interviewer and the company. Ideas like this will help anyone be more successful socially. The features/benefits idea is simple but genius, and is a necessity for any interviewee to understand. Thank you Mr. Adler for this classic!
