4Easy to read yet a good college level book  Jul 04, 2009 By Chad Thomas
I used this book for a class in a previous semester and I found it to be insightful and comprehensive enough for me to read through without any struggle. I like the examples and illustrations mentioned throughout the text. Good class book, almost worth keeping when books are being sold back lol

4Easy Read, loads of information  Mar 30, 2009 By Luke Lab
The book contains a wealth of information. At times it is a little hard to follow because of the sidebar pieces. Yet, I would recommend reading it for an Organizational Behavior course.

4Flawed research  Jan 24, 2011 By Searcher "humor me"
Although I found the book to be excellent in most respects, it suffers in one specific area of flawed research. Specifically the myth that "Hewlett-Packard rewards dissenters - those who stay with ideas they believe in even when those ideas are rejected by management." As an ex-HP employee I can attest that the above assertion is no more than a myth perpetuated by HP's public relations department that was true many years ago. It is unfortunate that this archaic historical data point is perpetuated as current not only by these authors, but countless others as well.

5EXCELLENT field guide  Nov 21, 2008 By A. McLain "Loves2Read"
I ordered this book for class and was stunned at how quickly I got it. I ordered it new directly from Amazon. Amazingly fast shipping! I got it just in time to read it for my class. My prof teaches from this book and does very interesting reviews and recaps to tie it all into lecture.

I find the format to be excellent for studying and grasping the concepts. The photos, captions, graphs and stories make it all a well rounded guide. For anyone who is not on a career track that specifically includes leadership training or someone who could use some sound leadership material -- this is an excellent source to keep in your office as a guide for important concepts on leadership. Its not a beginner's book and its not so advanced that with the book and some self study and research you could grasp the concepts.

Understanding human behavior as it relates to organizations is a fascinating science that too many people take for granted. This book introduces you to the complexities of it in a straight forward way.

It also comes with an access code to allow you to take the self assessment surveys. These are beneficial in that they provide you with greater insight into your own leadership style, values and perspectives on things.

I recommend this guide to any manager who's new to their leadership role or anyone who's looking to get better at what they do. Only caveat, it weighs a ton so carrying it around in a backpack or book bag is not fun!

5Amazon is amazing!  Mar 04, 2012 By Kettou21
First day of class, I went to the college book store took one look at the price, gasped and left. Someone walked up to me and informed me of Amazon. I never knew how cost effective this would be. I went online and in less than 5 minutes my transaction was complete. The book cost me $17, the book was brand new, excellent product, affortable price, and fast delivery. I ordered the book Monday evening and by Saturday morning I received the book regular mail at no extra cost. Furthermore, I had the entire weekend to read the chapter for the monday class. Amazon you are truly amazing and I recommend every student to use this cite. Thank you to all the staff at Amazon.
