5Introduction to ADKAR  Apr 26, 2012 By Robert Wickman "BIGideas"
Employee's Survival Guide to Change is an excellent starting point for employees to understand how to manage themselves and advance professionally in a change project. This little book creates awareness of the change process for the employee. ADKAR is a great tool and this little book works well as an introduction to the ADKAR model. It will not bog employees down with too much detail - there is just enough here to gain an understanding of how people navigate change and what they can do to be successful.

In the book, Jeff provides simple, easy to follow exercises to evaluate where you are in the change process and what you can do to shift if you are stuck. It educates them on what their role could be if they chose to support the change, and the benefits of doing so. He also discusses what the consequences of resisting change might be, if they choose that route.

On the cover is a quote: "The best Change Management guide a business can provide to its employees." I agree. It is the best one I have found to date. The writing is simple, clean, and easy to follow. The artists' drawings are a nice touch and actually tie in very well to the subject, even helping to land the message well. My recommendation is to give each employee a copy of this book to read and understand before you begin your change project. Do this right after the leadership team communicates WHY the change is happening and be prepared for lots of questions.

5Change Management Made Easy to Understand  Jun 12, 2009 By L. Vick "a CM believer"
This book is ideal for application for personal or professional use. It really brings Change Management "speak" to a very understandable level for any level employee. Our firm is using this book for basic CM training for executives and down. It allows one to learn basic CM concepts without getting into theory and processes. The ADKAR discussions are right on and easy to understand. The book answers "how does change affect ME and what can I do to adjust?".
